Child Safety Standards
Last updated: October 2026
Gathrd is a private event photo and video sharing app published on Google Play by S M Jenkins. Gathrd has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). These standards apply to everyone who uses Gathrd, on every device and in every event.
What is prohibited
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including photos, videos, drawings, or computer-generated images.
- Sexualized content involving a minor, or sexualized comments about a minor.
- Grooming, soliciting, or enticing a minor for sexual purposes, including requests for images or meetings.
- Sextortion, trafficking, or any other exploitation or endangerment of a child.
- Sharing, linking to, or asking for any of the above, in photos, videos, event names, descriptions, or messages.
Accounts that break these rules are removed and are not allowed back.
How to report a concern
- In the app: open the photo or video, tap ⚑ Report, and choose Child safety concern (or Illegal content). You can also block the person who shared it.
- By email, without an account: write to our child safety contact below with a description and, if you can, the event name and the date. Please do not forward the material itself.
- In an emergency: if a child may be in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number first.
What we do when we are told
- Reported content is hidden from the event right away, while it is reviewed.
- Reports are reviewed by a person, and we aim to act on them within 24 hours.
- We remove the content, lock uploads or disable access to the event, and suspend or permanently remove the accounts involved.
- We preserve the relevant records, report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the appropriate authorities where the law requires it, and cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
How Gathrd helps prevent harm
- Photos are shared inside events that people join by invitation, code, or QR. Hosts decide who may join and can remove people and photos.
- Uploaded photos are screened automatically for sexual and violent content using a third-party moderation service, and content that is flagged is held back for review. Automated screening does not catch everything, which is why reporting and human review matter.
- Everyone can report any photo and block any person from inside the app.
- Gathrd is a general-audience event service. It is not designed for or directed to children.
